What is the Guild of Symbols?

The "Guild of Symbols" is an self-modifying initiatory order highly suggestive of Hesse’s Glass Bead game with esoteric elements and ritual elements rooted in Rosicrucianism and other hermetic systems. Traditional virtues like honesty, honor, and hard work are cultivated alongside a general emphasis on lightheartedness and play. Like other fraternal orders it aims to establish a global network of lodges that allow its members to congregate and share insights and opportunities.

The Guild has a particularly Neopythagorean flair: it places special emphasis on mathematics, geometry, and cryptography as a path to understanding. It is multi-generational by design, continuously changing, and emphasizes cultivation of all arts, traditional and modern.

The first grade of the Guild is the "Sheeb" and refers to the extent to which both humans and animals have been domesticated but contain and can reclaim the "soul of the wolf." In the first initiation the Sheeb recognizes the nature of their own domestication, the power of their neoteny, and the need for brotherhood to express their full nature and true desires. The enthusiastic exclamation of "Woooooo" is the first step in awakening, the step with which one takes on the mantle of the 1º and the title of Sheeb.

The first Sheebs were sworn in at a stone circle in England and have since spread across several continents. Sheebs playfully embrace the latest technologies including biohacking, virtual reality, and cryptographically secure mechanisms all while having ridiculously fun parties to demo their toys and creations. Sheebs also continue to work to refine themselves and the encourage the growth of the brotherhood. There are 3º degrees that are openly discussed amongst sheebs, and more which remain secret until further advancement has occurred.

The Palo Alto Nest is the first Guild of Symbols Lodge, and has already been used for public and private Guild gatherings, and has been host to notable entrepreneurial and research initiatives, from Biohacking to Quantum Blockchains. Most guild projects are unannounced until Sheebs have had chance to discuss among themselves the best way to release, finance, and circulate them as world-changing innovations.
